Continual innovation is the key strategy which alongwith our keenness to learn and grow. We are continuously looking for indigenous technologies for specific applications and have taken up non-conventional technologies in the past: We have technical tie-ups with premier Indian institutions including IIT Mumbai and CSIR (Centre for Scientific & Industrial Research) and R&D backup from IIT Delhi. |
Some of our technologies and products are: |
• Extended Aeration
• Submerged Aerated Fixed Film (SAFF)
• Chemo-Autotrophic Activated Carbon Oxidation (CAACO)
• Soil Bio-Technology (SBT)
• Scrubbers |
 |
| Extended Aeration |
Extended aeration process is an improvement over the conventional activated sludge process. In Aeration tank (Extended aeration), suspended microbial growth is maintained for the biological oxidation of organics. Diffused aeration system is provided to meet the oxygen requirement of microorganisms and to keep the liquor in completely mixed regime.
The process usually does not require any primary settling, and sewage after equalization directly goes to the aeration tank. However, in case of higher loadings, primary settling or grit chamber may be required. Elimination of primary settling reduces the initial cost, and also the sludge after extended aeration and secondary settling, is relatively more stabilized. |

| Submerged Aerated Fixed Film (SAFF) |
SAFF treatment is based on aerobic attached growth process and used in the secondary treatment of effluent/sewage treatment plant. The equipment consists of specially designed synthetic media, which facilitates attached fixed film growth of microorganisms. The media is supported by channels. Diffusers are provided for efficient oxygen transfer.
Special features of Submerged Aerated fixed film reactor include it’s compactness, no need to sludge recycle, fixed film growth and high organic loading rates. |

| Chemo-Autotrophic Activated Carbon Oxidation (CAACO) |
CAACO is an innovative technology proposed for treatment of wastewater by removal of organic and bacterial impurities under aerobic conditions. CAACO reactor is a hybrid system having biological and chemical oxidations integrated in a single reactor packed with activated carbon based catalyst of low surface area .It is a cost effective effluent treatment technology with low electrical power utilization due to low air requirement, consistent removal of organics, low detention period and no sludge generation.
The CAACO reactor has the basic feature that the bacteria are immobilized in a carbon matrix. This system has been abbreviated as CAACO because it involves immobilization of Chemo Autotrophic Bacteria (which uses sulphate as the energy source) in Activated carbon & uses oxygen for oxidation of organics in wastewater. This technology can handle shock load conditions very well.
Other advantages of this technology include its compactness, low operating skills requirement, chemical free treatment, long life of catalyst, no foul smell, no tertiary treatment requirement, and possible energy savings when combined with Anaerobic Treatment, by utilizing the gas generated. |

| Soil Bio-Technology (SBT) |
“Soil Bio Technology” (SBT) is an efficient process of synthesis to completely utilize solid and liquids. It is a new technology developed by IIT Mumbai, and has been used by WAPP at some of it’s project installations.
SBT is more of a natural treatment technology, with no moving or mechanical equipments except for pumps. The system is very simple to implement, operate and maintain and is economical in capital and recurring costs. It only requires elementary agricultural skills, which fit the local cultural attitudes hence providing systems totally free from harmful chemicals.
All green near neutral pH environment, no sludge for disposal and no mechanical aeration are unique features. Compared to other eco-friendly natural ecosystem based technologies such as vermiculture, wetlands etc., it has a lesser space requirement. Also, it can handle toxic wastewater and can be designed for complete treatment i.e. bringing the outlet characteristics to desired reuse level. |

| Scrubbers |
Scrubbers are devices to control air Pollution from stationary sources. It employs a liquid medium; generally water, to remove particulates and gaseous contaminants from the exhaust by washing. From application point of view, Scrubbers can be classified into 3 broad categories.
• Scrubbers employed to remove only the fumes and installed with the fume extraction systems, which are required for a variety of Industrial process.
• Scrubbers employed to remove only the fine particulates from the exhaust of pneumatic dust handling systems such as Dryers, Grinders, Pneumatic handling and Ventilation systems.
•
Scrubbers employed to remove both the particulates and the gaseous contaminants simultaneously from the exhaust of various thermal utility systems such as boilers (both industrial and utility), engines, metal treatment, furnaces, kilns and other specialized Industrial furnaces and ovens.
We, at WAPP have know-how on various high to low energy scrubbers to provide the most optimum solutions for ones needs. These include venturi, wet, cyclone, sieve plate, packed bed, impingement, spray towers etc. |
